Dug Hill is a private piece of land in North Alabama. There's no check-in desk, no camp store, no one to call if you forget your sleeping bag. What there is: 50 acres of hardwood forest, a fire ring, and enough quiet to hear yourself think for the first time in months.

You ride in on two wheels. You set up camp. You stay as long as you booked. That's the whole deal.

WHAT YOU'RE GETTING INTO

TERRAIN

50 acres of North Alabama hardwood forest. Flat tent sites, fire ring, natural surroundings.

ACCESS

Motorcycle and foot traffic only. No RVs, no trailers, no cage camping.

FIRE

Fire ring on site. Bring your own wood or gather deadfall. No cutting live trees.

WATER

Bring your own. There is no water hookup on site.

TOILETS

Primitive. Dig a cat hole or pack it out. Leave no trace.

NOISE

Quiet hours after 10pm. Neighbors are trees, but respect the land.

PETS

Dogs welcome. Keep them leashed and clean up after them.

GUESTS

Book covers one rider and their gear. Additional riders book their own spot.

We keep it simple because simple works.

  3. 03No cutting live trees. Deadfall only for fire.
  4. 04Quiet after 10pm. The woods don't need your playlist.
  5. 05Respect other campers' space. This isn't a festival.
  6. 06No generators. You're here to get away from that noise.
  7. 07Fires in the ring only. Fully extinguish before you sleep or leave.

QUESTIONS PEOPLE ACTUALLY ASK

How do I get there?

Directions are sent after booking through Hipcamp. The road in is unpaved for the last stretch — plan accordingly.

Can I bring a passenger?

Yes. Your booking covers you and one passenger on the same bike. Additional riders need their own booking.

Is there cell service?

Spotty at best. Download your maps before you arrive. That's kind of the point.

What if it rains?

It's camping. Bring a good tent and a good attitude. Cancellation policy is handled through Hipcamp.

Can I arrive after dark?

You can, but we don't recommend it. The road in is easier in daylight. Plan to arrive before sunset.

Is this near good riding?

North Alabama has some of the best roads in the Southeast. You're in the right place.
