In the motorcycle world, the line between buyer and seller is often blurred. One season you’re selling your bike to make room in the garage, and the next you’re walking past a barn-find that needs to come home with you. But moving a bike from one rider to another isn’t always as simple as posting an ad and hoping for the best. That’s where consignment comes in.

Motorcycle consignment is a practical, low hassle way to sell a bike without navigating the often-messy private sale process. It’s not a new idea—it’s been used in the car world for decades—but in communities like ours, where motorcycles mean more than just transportation, consignment can be a valuable service that connects the right machine to the right rider.

Here’s how it works:

1. You Bring the Bike or We Pick It Up

Maybe it’s your old daily rider. Maybe it’s a project you finished but lost interest in. Whatever the reason, you drop off or we pick up the motorcycle, and we take it from there. We do a basic check-up, give it a good look over, and talk through what you know about its history and condition.

2. We Agree on a Plan

Together, we’ll decide on a reasonable price based on the bike’s condition, mileage, and market value. You set your bottom line—what you’d be happy walking away with—and we’ll keep that in mind while handling all the conversations on your behalf.

3. We Show It to the Right People

Instead of listing your bike on half a dozen sketchy platforms or meeting strangers in parking lots, we’ll display it where folks actually come to look. Whether it’s on our lot, in our shop, or at local rides and events, we treat it with the care we’d want for our own machines.

4. You Get Paid When It Sells

Once we’ve found a buyer and the deal’s done, we handle the paperwork and transfer of ownership, and you receive the proceeds minus a small, flat commission. It’s all out in the open—no surprises.

Why This Matters:

For some, consignment is about avoiding the stress and logistics of selling. For others, it’s a way to make sure the bike they’ve cared for doesn’t end up in the wrong hands or fall into neglect. For buyers, it provides peace of mind: every motorcycle on consignment has been seen, touched, and rolled through by someone who rides, not someone just trying to make a sale.

It’s a way of keeping motorcycles moving through our local community. It’s a quiet kind of matchmaking, pairing machines with riders who appreciate them. No pressure. No gimmicks. Just helping bikes find their next home.

MOTORCYCLE CAMPING

4 Miles to the NACK

The Flint River runs quiet through North Alabama. Not flashy. Not loud. Just steady water cutting through limestone banks and cottonwood shadows. It moves slow in the summer and colder in the spring, and if you know where to go, you can ride it for hours without seeing another soul.

Four miles from the Hill—that’s where you’ll find it. Dug Hill Motorcycles & Outdoor Shenanigans sits up high, but the Flint rolls low and easy. It’s a good place to wash off the noise of the world. Better place to get your boots wet and your head straight.

The North Alabama Canoe and Kayak Company sets folks up right. They’re down on Highway 72. Rentals, shuttles, the whole bit. You don’t have to bring anything but your time and your patience. And maybe a cold beer for the ride.

The Flint’s not wild. It won’t buck you like whitewater or roar like the Elk. But it winds through some of the best country in Alabama—clear shallows, rope swings, and sandstone ledges. It’s the kind of river that reminds you why you ever loved the outdoors to begin with.

A ride on the river. A ride on two wheels. They both start with showing up and end with feeling better than when you started.
